Default 25NL Do I really have to stack off yet again???

Villain is 22/4/0.7 over 40 hands. I’m playing 11/7/1.9. By way of background, I’ve stacked off around 350 BB this week with AA on three big hands (one pure suck-out, and two shoves that were later heartily approved by y’all ). So I when I see AA below, all I can see are visions of another 100BB down the drain.

UTG ($18.80 in chips)
UTG+1 ($25.95 in chips)
MP1 ($37.60 in chips)
MP2 ($49.30 in chips)
HJ ($22.05 in chips)
CO ($21.65 in chips)
Hero BU ($45.80 in chips)
SB ($22.90 in chips)
BB ($24.30 in chips)

Hero is OTB with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

One fold, UTG+1calls $0.25, one fold, MP2 calls $0.25, two folds, Hero raises $1.25 to $1.50, two folds, UTG+1 calls $1.25, MP2 calls $1.25

Flop ($4.85) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $4.00, UTG+1 raises $20.45 and is all-in, MP2 folds, Hero???

WTF is he doing this with? Slow-played KK? Draw? Two pair scared of a straight? Made straight? I have no effen idea.

If this guy has any remote clue that you're running at ELEVEN vpip, his range has to be ahead of yours because HE has to have YOU on exactly what you have, a big overpair. This board is ripe for sets/two pairs/flopped JT/pair+OESD. You can find a fold here.

You can try making it $2 or $2.25 preflop if necessary.

I pretty much turbo call here because the board is so coordinated.

Thanks for this, and I did fold.

But is it necessarily so that I'm on QQ+? If I'm raising pre-flop 7% generally, that means I should be raising 10-12% from the button, or something like 99+, AT+, KQ, QJ (in fact, I'm raising a bit more than that, but I've been totally card dead). And in a three-person pot checked to in position, I'm very likely c-betting a whiff.

villain has a .7 AF and sets you in on that flop, i'm giving him credit for something better than your one pair.

but a better point... when you say this:

...it's a warning to yourself.

a long time ago i became so afraid of AA/KK and AK i quit raising it up preflop in LHE until i saw the flop. even then i was tenative with'em. worst slide of my online playing time. finally after sending a few hundred hands to a 2p2'er for "review", he lambasted my ass when he saw the weak preflop/post flop play of my premium hands.

needless to say, i was extremely embarassed when it was pointed out to me. oh i had good reasoning on my part... mainly "slow playing to trap" and schit like that.

maybe you don't have a problem with it yet, but i've made the same statements and have had the same thoughts.

other than that, i can find a fold in this hand based off the bet size and villains stats.

I doubt many 25nl players think that way but it is something to take into account if you think he is a smart player. The thing that gets me is the villian here has relatively no aggression in his stats so I think you're beat here a lot of the time.
