Why is 6 handed poker so popular online?
It seems that in live play usually 9 or 10 handed is the standard but online 6 handed play is more popular. Why is this? Usually I play 9/10 handed online cause I can play stronger hands which I think in theory allows for less variance. Is 6 handed play more popular cause most people are action junkies? They can use their skill advantage to play more marginal hands stronger? It's just more fun to play 6 handed?
Also, should I seriously consider learning to play 6 handed because it's more profitable? Any comments on 6 handed no limit vs. limit hold em. Thanks! |

People play 6 max b/c you get more hands in. It's not as boring as fr.

Usually when people go gambling, they want variance. That's the fun of gambling....

Re: Why is 6 handed poker so popular online?
I can feel my opponents in 6max. It's like the table is alive. Full ring is too impersonal for me. With 6-8 games open I don't even see my opponents' screen names or get any reads on them. But in 6max there is lots of confrontation, and just by playing I can figure out (and remember) each person I play against. |
