Re: I want the coolest, most original card guard...ideas?
I use a mini bottle of Tabasco. (My boyfriend is addicted to the stuff, and his aunt gave us each a mini bottle out of the blue -- what else was I going to do with it?) Very depressed to see them show one during the WSOP Main Event. I figured I wasn't the only one, but come on.

Hire Pamela Anderson lean over the table and put her finger on our cards, until you tell her to take it off.
Not only is original, but if she leans far enough, she'll distract most of the male players in the game. What do I win for this idea. |

Humberto Shark ftw [/ QUOTE ] I've actually got a Pokerface shark (we've got sharks all over the house), but I never use it except for home games specifically because of Humberto. I use a black PokerCoin or a toy ferret if I use one at a casino. |

Some guy I know used to use a bottle of Vicodin as a card protector.

Re: I want the coolest, most original card guard...ideas?
I'm thinking that, when I make the transition to live play, I'll use a pocket watch as a card protector.
Then I can use the "second hand" trick to randomize my play like Dan Harrington suggests. I've been looking for a cool pocket watch to use for this, but I haven't really seen anything I like. But I've got until 2010 for the Mass casinos to open, so I still have time. When I go to Foxwoods I just use a chip. |

Hi guys...I hope this is the right forum; if not, please forgive; at any rate, I'm looking for a very cool, very original, very personal card guard...can you guys pool your collective brainpower and give me some cool websites to visit in this pursuit? Thanks!!!... [/ QUOTE ] Haven't read much of the thread but I'm mostly with the first reply that it's usually going to be pretty much the opposite of cool. One tournament I was at a table with Mike Sexton's brother. Pat Sexton or Dave Sexton maybe? Can't remember. Anyway, the guy had a bag full of a bunch of different card-protectors which he would change every orbit or so I guess. Had a little sail-boat, and then a little crystal-globe or something, and then some other random knick-knack and then I don't remember what. He seemed pleased with himself and it actually seemed to work okay in a not-ridiculously-lame manner in this situation and I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe because he was older than everyone at the table and a couple of the little knick-knacks actually did look kind of interesting even though they were way to big and bulky to be very practical as card-protectors. |

Re: I want the coolest, most original card guard...ideas?
I use one of these. Live round in underground rooms, spent cartridge in casinos. (For some reason casinos frown on explosives at the table) When I use a spent cartridge it is usually one with some signifigance like my daughter's first deer.
It usually generates some discussion at the table. |

Re: I want the coolest, most original card guard...ideas?
I had a high school teacher who had a human ear in a Jumbo Jack box.
He later cast it in resin. Original yes. Cool? Maybe not. |
