One of the heads up matches at the NBC tournament was dealt with an unshuffled deck. They redealt it. This is precisely why you fan the deck and then wash it prior to starting. Never assume that a deck is shuffled.

Its still random even if the deck is only cut a few times. There is no advantage to any player in this case. I say the deal is legit...

If you take a deck which is in order, Deuce to Ace by suits, and then cut it a few times, it is still pretty much in the preset order. You can't call that random. |

Not a redeal because significant action had taken place. With a slighly different cut someone else could have received the queens. Shuffle up and move on to the next hand.
I promise you the last thing you want in your game is to make "poor shuffling" a valid complaint, and cause to redo a hand. No way, just let this hand stay screwed and move on. |

I think the fact that the cards were shuffled SOME rather than NONE makes all the difference.
