Re: AP, rigged, etc. #8981.4 - there was no superuser account
No, you were right. I just type in a lazy and incorrect manner a lot of the time.

Re: AP, rigged, etc. #8981.4 - there was no superuser account
[ QUOTE ]
Just FYI, someone actually decompiled the AP client and told me that there was not a mechanism in the client for receiving hole cards. I don't know if he wants me to mention him by name, so I'll err on the safe side and not reveal it. I am pretty sure that the hole cards were not received by the client. What the de-compilation told me lined up with what my sources told me. [/ QUOTE ] Makes sense, actually. There is probably a special version of the client made for seeing hole cards if you're on the right account. |

Re: AP, rigged, etc. #8981.4 - there was no superuser account
Thanks Josem, you seem to understand what I am saying. I agree with everything in your response.
To extend your metaphor a bit, many here seem to have concluded that 363's role in the heist was to be the getaway driver. That may be true, but it may also be true that 363 was really a lookout, or the crew boss, or the QA inspector for the crooks. There may have been a different driver. [ QUOTE ] The other plausible explanations you provide require someone having greater access to AP's computer systems than other people. That seems to be a fairly decent working definition of "superuser." [/ QUOTE ] Sure, but not everybody who hears the term thinks of that type of account. Some think it means poker account, not internal AP computer system account. "Superuser" is convenient in that it covers both possible types of unauthorized access. Its two possible meanings however can lead people to make assumptions which may not be true. |

semantics!!!!!!!!!! Let the Absolute lawyers argue that stuff. A great way to punish these opponents is to make them hire more attorneys btw. gg [/ QUOTE ] QFT I think it's quite clear we have defined the term "superuser" as meaning "the as-yet unknown mechanism by which the hole-card info was transmitted". To continue to debate this here is a derailment of the topic. Edit: Clearly the topic should be Lori's awesome mspaint! |

Re: AP, rigged, etc. #8981.4 - the plot thickens
If you think that we were interchanging superuser for both 1 and 2 you are only partly right.
Both have been mentioned- but assuming most people think it is one or the other is a stretch you seem to be making to make a point. The reason people are using "superuser" is because the guy could see the hole cards. The fact that it could have been someone who merely had/accessed account #363 instead of actually USING account #363 is a distinction you seem to be making. The argument is user 363 is in on the super using. Not "he's using his superuser account which is double top secret tech they don't hand out to everyone." Can we stop this general hijack of the thread? You stated your thoughts very well. |
