Re: jj vs a 60/40
Thanks for the advice in this thread.
One place I've been trying to improve is laying down CORRECTLY in big pots, even if it means laying down the best hand at times. Doing so is a slippery slope, especially against the bad looseys. And so it is very helpful to hear from other good players what calls they consider routine and what ones they think are folds. I decided to lay this one down because I thought his small turn bet + call of my raise was a bet to induce and that the 3 somehow improved his hand. The first is a reasonable assumption. Not sure about the second, though I do think if he had 2 pr or better on the flop he woulda raised. I was correct in this specific situation but don't plan on making this play routine against bad players. Here is the hand: Prima Poker skin No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $3/$6 4 players Converter Stack sizes: hero: $1702.86 Button: $633.00 SB: $1641.87 BB: $628.92 Pre-flop: (4 players) hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] hero raises to $24, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls. Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($72, 3 players) SB checks, BB checks, hero bets $56, SB calls, BB folds. Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($184, 2 players) SB bets $36, hero raises to $146, SB calls. River: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($476, 2 players) SB bets $395.44, hero folds. Uncalled bets: $395.44 returned to SB. Results: Final pot: $476 SB shows 5h 3h |

Re: jj vs a 60/40
Haven't u played with 60/40's who played well post flop? Or dropped down in stakes and played a high % of hands with the sole purpose of improving postflop play?

Re: jj vs a 60/40
A lot of the time he's going to have J5s there and he got all happy when he rivered two pair.

Re: jj vs a 60/40
trying not to be. And I do agree in general this is a call and usually that three helps my hand. Guess I got lucky in my rationale and in his deciding to show.
