Weird AK spot $50 NL
Early in session ran into this:
CO is 32/6/0 BTN is 43/7/1 Both over only about 30 hands Full Tilt Poker, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players LegoPoker Hand History Converter Hero (BTN): $53.10 SB: $25.60 BB: $33.75 UTG: $93.05 MP: $24.20 CO: $41 Pre-Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN) UTG folds, MP raises to $1.50, CO raises to $2.50, Hero raises to $9.75, 2 folds, MP calls $8.25, CO raises to $41 and is All-In, My first instinct here is to snap call because of the juicy pot odds, how much attention should i pay to BTN's low PFR? The mini 3 bet I haven't seen from him before but usually 10 10 - QQ and AK show up to this kind of action. Obv CO is calling.Really just checking my decision making process here.. |

Re: Weird AK spot $50 NL
neither one raises many hands preflop, I'm not really liking AK in this situation. I'm probably the only one that folds to the 5 bet all in.

Re: Weird AK spot $50 NL
I'm folding here all day. I think it was Phil Gordon who wrote something about the 4b being aces as a general rule. Although, I'd have a hard time folding KK, even here.

I'm folding. No way I'm playing AK in that situation. You'll meet at least one monster here.

Re: Weird AK spot $50 NL
It depends on how well your AK will hold. I googled and came up with this site: http://kevingong.com/Math/KKPreflop.html.
Opponent / Pot odds needed. AA, KK, QQ or AK / 1.39 : 1 And this is in case you hold a suited AK. The pot is 63, and to call it's 41. You get pot odds: 1.54 : 1. That's enough to warrant a call, although the calculation was for a suited AK. Basically it's a coin flip. Personally, I'd fold, especially because of his stats. |
