Re: Pocket 2\'s: Is this good 1 in 9 here?
[ QUOTE ]
Key words here are opponents and situation and given the situation that the table was so weak would a deviation from standard tight play not be +EV? [/ QUOTE ] You have it backwards, against weak opponents you don't deviate from standard mathematically correct play because it will beat them all day and they won't adjust. [ QUOTE ] If you are against a table full of bad opponents especially especially loose and pasive should you not go after them? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but not in the way you think. Don't try to run them off hands or get tricky with them, just play some hands more than you normally would and value bet thinner than you normally would. Note that this is what OP was trying to do, BUT his hand is so bad that even against fish he has terrible equity on all postflop streets. Push your legit hands harder when the loose passives are calling down but not showing aggression, but realize that the nut worst one card flush draw turned nut worst one card flush is not a legit hand. Especially when you consider these people are more likely to check like the Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and less likely to fold like the 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] than most opponents would be. |

Re: Pocket 2\'s: Is this good 1 in 9 here?
smurph - the river bet was probably terrible even if you could see their cards. if they folded none of them probably had a club anyway so you werent bluffing, and if you had checked behind they all would have taken the note "bets 7c9cTc flop with deuces" on you which helps your metagame

Those that did would of lol'd "friggin fish" and moved on w/out even thinking of taking a note. |
