I've been increasing my aggression slowly based of posts on this forum and the genuine attitude. If you watch shows like poker after dark the pros are much more passive, they do show selective aggression but in general they are quite happy to check down most hands. So my question is why are we trying to be so aggressive? Is it because our opponents are more likely to give up and not start playing back?
Thanks (: |

the pros on poker after dark would be eaten alive at 1/2 on most online sites

I honestly think that a lot of the pros don't play their normal game on those tv shows, especially when the money infolved is like peanuts like it is with PAD
I saw Tony G playing on that show and he was the tightest nit at the table, folding AQ PF in un opened pots, etc. I don't recall Tony G being a tight player or whatever. meh EDIT: Also, I remember Barry G saying that exact same thing on an episode of Live at the Bike when he was commentationg..basically they don't want to show everybody what they are really capable of. |

also PAD is a tourney so plays different to cash games.
i think live poker is alot more passive for some reason. agression is just a way of winning pots w/o having the best hand |

agression should be about making you harder to read and play back at, if you play your 2overs + a gutshot the way you play your sets villains will be clueless.
Also agressive playstyle scares people, they dont want to be messing around with someone who makes them play for their stacks every time their in a hand. |
