get a coach, no shame in it. they will reinforce the good stuff that you do until you feel comfortable.

What type of sample sizes are you talking about here? Keep in mind that even with 100k hands of NL ring, you can still get pretty wild variance. I'd recommend playing 20-30k hands at 2/4 and re-evaluating after seeing how it goes, and just move up as you feel like you've "conquered" each level. Its just a matter of getting a feel for the games.. [/ QUOTE ] i agree, i would start at 1,2 2,4 and hammer out the basics before moving up...its hard if your just getting into, esp with all the 3betting that goes on now, so the lower levels will ease you into the adjustment and dont [censored] with good regs |

Re: how to get good at cash games (i must be terrible)
I started in tournaments too, and have only recently been playing cash full time. Basically from what I can tell, you just gotta put in the hands. Learn how playing with deeper stacks affects the game, and possibly get a coach.
Just cause you won a wpt event theres no shame in putting in 50k hands at 1/2 or 2/4 before you go back to 5/10 |

Coach me in donkaments, Ill coach you in cash
Honestly, I need more info too. Do you have any proof that you are a long-term winner in 100BB+ games at any stakes? There is a big difference between a proven 2/4 or 3/6 winner, and someone who doesn't have much cash game experience. |

Re: how to get good at cash games (i must be terrible)
As others have been saying definitely establish yourself at lower limits before getting frustrated with 5/10. When I first switched from SNGs to cash I was break even at 1/2 for a while. I would have probably lost at even 2/4 and surely would have gotten crushed at 5/10. IM me sometime if you want to talk about it as I would have a pretty good idea of what you're going through.
Oh yeah, and you have probably noticed but on average online 5/10 is far tougher than any tournament. At the ME this year probably 7-8 of the players at my first table wouldn't have had a chance at 5/10. |
