Re: The Beer connoisseur thread
anyone ever get their hands on the westvleteren 12 (sp?)? It's near impossible to get in the US. I've talked a bunch with some people in the business, and I've been told that they are the only true trappist brewery in belgium. You actually have to go to the monestary and knock on the door to buy the beer. I got my hands on a few bottles from www.belgianshop.com and it is the best beer I've ever had. It takes the rochefort 10 to a new level, but at $18/11oz bottle it ain't cheap.

Re: The Beer connoisseur thread
I bought a few bottles in Belgium, still have a few in my fridge.
agree it's great, but prob. not worth the cost over the Roch. 10 also, there are 2 or 3 stores that sell it in Brussels (against the wished of the monastery) you dont have to go to the monastery |
