Re: Theory
how can 22 and 55 be so different that you hate calling 22 but call 55 75% of the time?

Re: Theory
with the game i play in, i call 22/55/88 and 3-bet jts/kq/a6s (though calling can be acceptable).
on stars, i 3-bet nearly all, sometimes calling 88. i bet all on the flop except 88/A6s. edit: i was confused on the post. |

Re: Theory
I think theres a big difference between what people actually do and what they're saying they do in this post.
its like "omg I dont wanna seem weak on the forum, lolz I 3bet them all day long" why do you guys all wanna get into big pots w/ marginal [censored] against a solid reg |

Re: Theory
the hand i'd least like to call is A6s. the hand i'd least like to 3b is 88, although KQo is a close second.
to above: no b.s here. scouts honour. |

[/ QUOTE ] I dont see whats wrong w/ just calling 22/55 if youre willing to make some moves on favorable flops (c/r, donk, etc..) its like people dont know how to play past "right. 3bet pf, cbet flop... ohh [censored] he called. guess its time to check/fold." just calling w/ a lot of these hands is totally fine/standard if youre willing to mix it up postflop. also think about how much you reduce variance. |

You need foold equity to do it obviously, so it may not be to smart to do it right after you have messed with the guy, or he's steaming, or when you have a [censored] up image, things like that. But a 3-bet with it is standard (for me) as compared to a call against most opponents, and done with the right frequency it will me more profitable then calling. Edit: It just sucks being OOP without initiative. |

Re: Theory
I usually 3bet 22,55, and TJs. 88 and KQs I'd probably be more inclined to call. A6s I fold most of the time and 3bet some of the time if he's getting out of line.
I think I'd bet the flop in all of those situations. |

Re: Theory
I don't see how calling with hands like 22 and 55 can be wrong if you check raise the proper amount of flops. 3-betting is all the hype, but you can take pots away this way too.
