[censored] borrowed money and didn't pay some people back while giving no explanation, am I right? He also decided to ditch the internet addiction (an excellent idea) before paying people back what he owes, or even explaining why he can't pay right away.

All Dids did was bring up a valid character point in a thread that is sucking [censored] 's dick.

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know the guy but it's pretty LOL that the knee-jerk response to receiving positive feedback is to look for a character flaw to exploit.

Let's look at this paragraph from the OP:

"Part of that was getting away from my environment including my family, other influences, poker, the internet and even 2p2 so I can focus on making good choices and doing something with my life. I am very very sorry that I let so many people down who were incredibly supportive and kind to me. While I have problems, problems I am working there are no excuses. I won't ask for forgiveness only time and a little understanding."

So what is so hard to understand about this, and who are we to judge? I swear, some people just like kicking others when they're down. The only people who should be allowed to take exception to the above are those who are owed money by him. Everyone else just seems to be piling on.

tuq,

1. Some like to just talk.

2. Some like to think they know what is going on and feel important.

3. Some are just relaxed and don't get in other people's biz.

Basically sums up this website.

to an extent I agree with tuq, however its probably not a bad idea for [censored]'s past to be known on the forum in case he tries to get more money out of other ppl on the board, bolting without an explanation is pretty low

Man read through the thread again; Dids brought it up in a joking way, was asked about it, and responded with a few more details.

I agree with you about [censored] 's apology being worth something but everyone is arguing about something that didnt even happen. Facts were presented and people can feel as they will about them. He borrowed money and didn't pay it back, offering no explanation. There are way more important things than money, but there's no reason that this shouldn't have been brought up.

You know what, I shouldn't even be posting about this [censored]. I'm not an OOTer and am def not owed any money by [censored]. Just trying to stick up for Dids who I feel didn't do anything wrong.

Sorry to derail the thread.

I think people who jump with money should get it as their under-title. Until that happens it's totally reasonable to remind everyone about it in every thread they post.

At this point it appears that people are willfully disinterested in differentiating between online scammers and [censored], who seemingly knows personally all the people who loaned him money and has expressed remorse for his actions and an interest in making good in the future. But as Leaky Eye adeptly pointed out, it's the internet so why not act holier-than-thou while we hide behind our computer screens.

Nobody should get a free pass for betraying confidences. I see nothing wrong with Dids comments. He is not the one who committeed offenses. He pointed them out and explained why.

There is definitely a double standard going on in this thread. Pretend By-Tor borrowed money - disappeared - and then came back to say he's still alive, and to say sorry about that. I'd be absolutely stunned if the OOT regulars jumped to his defense or talked about how it isn't their business or their place to comment/critcize. This forum and website is all about judging, with pretty limited boundaries.

[/ QUOTE ]I wouldn't criticize them without knowing the entire story. Some of the entire story is probably none of my business either. However, I don't think it is a good idea to make assumptions when the person making the claim is a third party at best.
