I didnt like folding. I didnt like calling, because there are a lot of flops with lowish cards I like, but maybe shouldnt like because of UTG's range. I decided to setmine and just fold every other flop. Even on a 245, 567 or J72 flop . 1) What would you do? fold, allin, call to setmine call to go allin on 235 or J27 flop? 2) would you setmine with 22 in this spot? 3) What would you shove? TT+ ? |

Re: $11 - 88 in BB with 20-BB
I don't hate squeezing here, although I'd like it infinitely more if the guy didn't raise dead UTG. I don't really know what to do here besides call honestly, I mean getting 4.25:1 folding doesn't really seem right. A read would be super, as if I had a reason to believe this guy is raising lighter than the fairly typical AJ+ KQ 77+ then I'd like a shove a lot more. However, without a read, and given that this guy raised 3k of his 24k stack, I'm not a fan of shoving, or folding, so I guess it's set mine by default.

Since you are in first position after the flop, I would check that turn, but any other position, I'd throw out a half-pot bet.

Re: $11 - 88 in BB with 20-BB
I don't see a reason to put another chip in this pot. We have a hand with, considering the position of the raiser, is looking for one thing and out. We missed, our stack can't afford another chip without a read to UTG, we could be crushed and his overpair is probly not going away now. We give away the last bit of reraise fold equity we have with any reasonable bet/call here. It may seem weak to let this go, but we can't afford giving any chips away at 17bb's, lost in a hand oop.

Re: $11 - 88 in BB with 20-BB
Maybe its just me, but I would just fold this PF. As pointed out in OP, even if flop comes great for us (all low cards etc.) what can we really do? We pretty much have to bet/fold to a raise, which sucks. If I know that UTG is a retard with a huge range, I don't have much of a problem with calling, but I think I'd rather just fold it and wait for a situations where I'll know what to do postflop.
