Comm 40: \"Why I have pocket King you put Ace on board dealer?!\"
Villain in this hand is the crazy Asian wife of crazy Asian Ted. I've played with her a lot and seen some spewriffic stuff from her (checkraising turns with bottom pair, etc). On the other hand, she seems to have a lot of respect for my play. She also likes me.
I get red KK UTG and raise, two callers, she 3-bets, two or three more people cold-call, I cap, everyone calls. She looks at me and says "really?", I chuckle. Flop: A44r I check. It gets checked to Villain, who says "you cap and then you check?" and bets. Folds to me, I call, one other person (random old Asian guy) calls. Turn: 7 I check, random guy checks, Villain bets, I call, random guy calls. River: 9 I check, random checks, Villain bets, I fold. |

I'd have check-raised the flop, so as to get more information about whether anyone between me and the bettor has anything that beats me and to get the two-outers to fold. The pot's too big to [censored] around.

"you cap and then you check?"
this could mean "i have the nuts" or it could mean "o rly? you have aces?" depending on the tone but the tone in this hand was probably "i have the nuts", and if that's the case you can fold the turn. also, i'm pretty sure it's physically impossible to read that topic and not picture gabe saying it. |

Re: Comm 40: \"Why I have pocket King you put Ace on board dealer?!\"
other guy calling the flop bet behind you on such a dry board increases the chances of someone having an ace a [censored] ton. so many things have to be 'just so' for you to be good here; and when you are there's no guarantee that you'll end up showing it down (which it seems at least somewhat possible happened here, though we dont know).
did you call, with the intent to call a river bet if the other guy folded behind you? or were you expecting her to check behind on the river a lot? |

Re: Comm 40: \"Why I have pocket King you put Ace on board dealer?!\"
There was a reasonable chance that the random guy was calling the flop with a pocket pair. When he called the turn, I put him on an Ace.
I'm expecting this Villain to bet the river with absolutely anything. |

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure why more people haven't advocated leading or checkraising flop.
