ooh enlightening. I think if anything, it's OP's use of Catholic that's most out of place. It's not like there's a ton of people mocking Catholics but being totally into Methodists.

Yeah I was mostly talking about the OP, because I'm confused about who he really meant for this thread.

You do hear things targeted specifically at Catholics btw. Maybe this board is too young, but remember that we've only ever elected one Catholic as President and it was a "big deal."

Where I live (the Midwest) there are lots of Catholic schools, but you don't have Baptist or Lutheran or Methodist schools. I think it's like that everywhere else as well.

Think about all the transubstantiation jokes you hear. Catholics are the target of all those since Protestants don't believe in transubstantiation.

Etc etc etc. There is a lot of stuff that, maybe if you aren't religious or haven't been in a Catholic community, you don't realize that it's not targeted against all Christians, just Catholics specifically.
