Re: nolimit hold em theory
Start with the bible: Harrington on Holdem Vol. 1. It is written for NL tournaments but will put you well on your way to understanding NL cash games, too.

The Bible would be SuperSystem.

The Bible would be SuperSystem. [/ QUOTE ] I would disagree with that, and I would definitely not recomend it for new players. Specifically, Brunson's NL section can get a beginner into a lot of trouble. |

This Fox and Harker book that just came out is pretty good I think.

[/ QUOTE ] i would agree 100%, especially for beginners/intermediates. some would disagree though. phil gordon little green book might be ok, although alot of it is for tougher games no real beginner type no-limit book other than russell fox. HOH 1 will help keep you out of trouble. but you might not win that much (i.e. people will probably notice you're really tight, and a fair number of lower $$$$ games have lots of callers, and harrington and gordon don't seem to stress those games (probably barely seen it before). |

[/ QUOTE ] True but its better to refer beginner books then, but still the Bible = SuperSystem And i didnt refer it to him. Just made a statement Cheers |

Re: nolimit hold em theory
Supersystem = The Bible
Harrington's books might be better, but Supersystem is still the bible. Otherwise everybody would call whatever book they like the most the bible and nobody would know WTF anybody is ever referring to.... |

I was able to beat $.50c/$1 on party right off the hope, by following starting hand selection guide with my first poker book in my lap. |
