Re: 16 stars - flopped str8 on bubble 3 flush board
If he is only calling QQ+, AK shoving ATC is profitable. Readless I don't know his calling range and I think I might get called by like TT/JJ here as well. If his range is TT+, AK, shoving QJo is slightly +ev. With a shorty there, I can't see any big stack calling any LOOSER than that.
I agree that shoving pre is decent, but readless, I doubt that opponent will re-raise me all in and steal my 600 raise (obviously against a good opponent I would not open myself up to a resteal like this). Anyways, I'm not concerned about pre as I think both raising and shoving are fine, depending on quality of the opponent. Folding is ridiculous as I have a slight chip lead and a decent hand 4 handed and I should be able to pick up an easy pot here. There's little possibility that he has 2 suited spades and would play a flopped flush like this. Any thoughts about the flop? |

Re: 16 stars - flopped str8 on bubble 3 flush board
shove/fold PF you shouldnt be in that situation.
Folding isnt ridiculous due to the stacks being so close and its 200bb risk vs reward Raise = worst thing because he could have easily shoved ATC pf and your just stuck because the stacks are even |

Re: 16 stars - flopped str8 on bubble 3 flush board
I doubt that most players (other then good regulars) would shove ATC against my open raise. Though I was readless, I know he wasn't on any of my tables, so not a multitabler (probably) and not a regular. Therefore, I don't think he's going to exploit my pfr. Against a regular I shove.

Re: 16 stars - flopped str8 on bubble 3 flush board
Push flop? Don't want to give villain the chance to make a semibluff in this awkward bubble situation. He is not calling with just a flush draw but might call with 2 pair (which would be good for us). |

pushing flop is something I didn't think of to eliminate giving BB a chance to semibluff. Villain had top and bottom, my straight held...

Re: 16 stars - flopped str8 on bubble 3 flush board
I like it just the way you played it. Yes it's true you might be against a made flush (or more likely a flush draw that hits) here and risk finishing fourth but more likely you win this moster pit and own 80% of the chips on the table giving you a very solid chance of finishing 1st.
