Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Absolute Poker reserves the right to pursue any and all remedies whether in law or equitable which may procure to it as a result of any unlawful and injurious actions... [/ QUOTE ] Does this make sense? I mean, grammatically? edit: I mean, 'procure' is a transitive verb, and I don't know wtf 'equitable' is doing in there in that form. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I looked up equitable to see if there was some noun form of the word I was unaware of, and no, it's just an adjective like I thought. It makes no sense whatsoever, and what remedies can you take outside the law anyways, order a hit on someone? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, it is either more incompetence or some weirdly scary threat. Also, can someone explain to me what is important or new about this statement? I just can't imagine they would let auditors in if they thought for a second that something could actually be found. |

if AP is so willing to do this i think they are pretty confident, for one reason or another, that the auditors will "find" nothing [/ QUOTE ] I.E. AP probably already purged their system of any damning evidence. |

Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
Does anyone here know anything about Gaming Associates? Are they actually widely acclaimed as AP says?
Either way, what's to stop AP from erasing all potential evidence of internal wrongdoing before the investigation? Seems almost worthless to me. |

Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
ABS poker must issue an official statement on their site acknowledging what indeed happened. There was clearly a security breach. This is not the death-knell to acknowledge this. It ***IS*** the death knell to lie about it. [censored] happens with computers and nothing is infallible. I think they can get their trust back simply by acknowledging what happened and the steps taken to prevent it from occurring in the future. They also must refund all stolen funds without further delay to those players who were victims. By doing all of this they can salvage and begin rebuilding trust.
The stock market is full of rogue insiders and the SEC does it's best to stop it. That doesn't prevent people from investing. ABSOLUTE Poker - get your [censored] together or you will go down in flames. |

[ QUOTE ]
"Absolute Poker reserves the right to pursue any and all remedies whether in law or equitable which may procure to it as a result of any unlawful and injurious actions taken by any individuals who may have falsified any information, documents, files, or have by other means attempted to disparage and/or harm Absolute Poker, its Players, its current or former management, employees, business partners or affiliates." [/ QUOTE ] An equitable remedy is a remedy under common law. A remedy under law would be under a statute. It's just legal crap. |
