A good way to look at this hand is "What's going to give me action?"

The answer is the same straight, or a set. So this argues in favour of checking.

Another good question is "What cards could come on the turn that would really me regret checking the flop?"

The answer is anything from a six to a ten. So this would argue for betting.

Because there's no higher straight draw and no flush draw out, this is one of the rare times where checking is ok.

But with 5 players, potting is standard. Get calls from donques with 77 or whatever.
