Default Value of an MA

I am about to graduate at SDSU in the field of Communication, with a minor in marketing. I've been toying with the idea of taking a year off for travel and then returning to get an MA in communication or some other field. My question is if there are any real major advantages to setting aside another 2 to 3 years of my life and getting an MA. Does an having a masters on your resume really add that much weight or could having a great interview achieve the same result? (I haven't been able to find much practical information about this online).

Grad degrees tend to add more value in technical disciplines coming straight out of college. For non-technical areas you would be better off getting some experience with a big name company, and then consider going back for an MA or MBA.
I'll qualify this with the disclaimer that I have not worked in Communications; although I'm a C-level with a major firm.
