Hey I didnt say I would do it... I was just leaving a recommendation (and since I work there I have to promote right?)

You can't promote your casino out of context.

Let's say someone asks any of the following questions:

"Are there any cardrooms in LA that aren't too crowded?"

"Are there small multi-rebuy tournaments in LA with a total cost of about $100 to $140?"

"Are there any cardrooms in LA that give away free hotel rooms for play?"

Here you can suggest Crystal Park and not violate posting guidelines.

You could also answer long time respected poster "Sucker" above in a similar manner as I'm about to in a minute.

But you can't suggest to someone flying in from out of town wanting to experience the typical LA cardroom and suggest CP unless they really expressed a need for a free room.

Keep in mind I worked as a prop/host at the Bike for four years and was able to address Bike issues within the guidelines established by this forum and some sense of balance so my credibility is pretty strong here.

Are you really recommending that some guy from out of town takes the LA subway to COMPTON (presumably at night)? Then he is to go play poker at CRYSTAL PARK? He's a good player and will likely WIN MONEY, at which time he'll have to WALK TWO BLOCKS THROUGH COMPTON AT NIGHT WITH A POCKETFUL OF CASH???

Have you no love for this man?

[/ QUOTE ]

It wouldn't be so bad if he got a free ride from the airport (and maybe back); my guess is the casino might go for it especially if they combine his ride with a bus-load of Chinese tourists (CP does big business on tours) .

And if he had a car he wouldn't have to walk through the Compton of legend; the club itself is in an industrial area without too many people hanging around on the street corner.

That said I almost sh_t my pants a few weeks back when the lights in the parking lot went out for a minute while walking from my car to the back door for a late night donkament.

PS Sucker, see my response just above to ascertain my motivation for even posting this.

yeh that kind of sucked. I worked that night. THe lights went out just before 3am (the start of my shift) and came on around 7am. Then went out again about 15 minutes later not to come on till almost 10 and stayed on for the rest of the day.

Rick,

There might be some sort of prop bet to be had here involving this subway ride, hardcore CP gambling action, late-night urban stroll. That's just too hardcore, man. Then again, it may still be safer than the far reaches of the HPC parking lot - or even the Valet there.

Maybe one of the young balla kids would go for it; perhaps the type who pay $1500 for a shot of whiskey in Las Vegas.

I like Ray Zee's advice regarding valet (I think it was Zee's advice). Don't ever leave your registration or any other other address identifying information in the glove box. Passed on to the wrong associates they won't have to follow you home for a robbery; instead they can simply wait up near your street.

Thats the nice thing about the parking lot at Crystal... right now its so empty that you can basicly park right up to the door.
