I call the turn even though I know he's trying to price himself in. I don't have a very strong hand, and my investment here is small. The river bet is weird and I think it's either a weird 7 or missed draw. Not sure I wanna call here but....what do you do?

This turn and river line has added up to big hands in my experience. The idea is that they bet the turn to get raised, are frustrated when they are not raised, and then make a big bet on the river to "catch up."

Don't be surprised to see trip 7's here.

You've only invested 1.50 in this hand.
Give this one up. Obviously the villain wants it more than you cuz he's offering you 1/13 odds.

Take a deep breath, and fold.

I folded in this particular case, but thought for a while as the line looks both like a missed draw trying to buy pot, AND trip 7s goading me into a turn raise, followed by a frustrated overbet on the river. (As threads has mentioned) I assume we're only calling this if the turn boated us up?

I like a fold. If he is doing this with a missed draw then he is spewing chips.

Also, Mike Kelleys Min Bet theory can fit 56 or 44 nicely.
Or as threads says he had a big hand on the turn.

You need to catch him bluffung 50% here, dont think so.

Would anyone else bite and raise the turn here (say $2.50) for info? I figure if he RRs you get out then or if he calls and straight draw hits see what he does on river.

I don't like raising the turn here because if villain IS on a draw, (especially a flush draw), then I don't mind him hitting it since mine's better and I can get a bet our of him on the river. This leads to my next question. Assuming the river is a spade, how big a bet are we willing to call here?

Why no raise pf? Seems like you had good position for it.

Do we have stats on villain? What sevens could he hold to limp preflop and check/call on that flop?? Makes little sense to me.

Both 33 and 89 fit his line pretty well here. I'd say he's bluffing 50%/value pushing 50%. Either way i'd fold. I hate high variance hero calls like this, even if they are close.
