Any other rooms in WV close?

[/ QUOTE ]

Close to where? There is one in Chester, WV which is about 30-40 miles north of Wheeling. The other racino is in Nitro, WV which is near Charleston, WV. It will not be ready until early 2008.

Peter also was asking around about omaha interest and whether there was interest in high or high/low. He did tell me they will spread 2-4, 3-6, 1-2NL and others as needed. I guess as players request higher limits they will deal them.

I'm hoping they'll be able to get some mid-limit games (10/20, 20/40 or so) going. Not sure if the market can support it though. The poker room near Charleston is actually closer to me but I'll probably hit this one a couple of times before the Tri-State one opens.

Does anybody have any idea what the rake will be like? I also wonder if they will offer a poker hotel room rate.

Rake will be 10% up to five dollars on lower limit games. Supposedly there will be a high limit area upstairs which will be a timed rake. Not sure when that will open. I am unaware of a poker room rate but can ask once I get back there.

When will the Chester one open? I live in Morgantown and while the Wheeling casino is closer in miles, I can flop at my sister's house near Chester and not fall asleep driving home or spring for a hotel room.

It will supposedly open this Friday as well. Looks like poker will be the buzz in the northern panhandle of WV this weekend!

GREAT! I can't go up this weekend, but I hope someone goes to Chester and gives a good trip report.
