Wow, that was pretty bad. Did you even read it once after you wrote it and posted it on this forum? Or take a few seconds to do a spell-check? It shows you dont really care. You need to find something or somebody that will motivate you to write a good essay...

Call some of your friends and tell them you need help brainstorming some ideas for your college essay. Are some of your friends good at writing papers.. meet them at your local library for an hour or two and ask them to help you. I hope your not turned off by the thought of meeting at a library... you'll be doing alot of it to succeed in college.

At the very least, Google some topics on how to write a good essay.

If you want to do a travel story (and if you have any interest in writing you should, it's reliable money) take a part of the trip and narrate it from an involved, active perspective. Personify the place, "Costa rica is a hungry feral beast that demands..." the go from there. Make it a little absurd but articulate, while you get your points across rather than A..B...C. These pieces are generally pretty fun to write as well.

My first thought was, when the admissions committee runs your paper through google, it's going to end up at 2+2 [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Kidding of course, but wouldn't that be great? I know of a kid who wrote a paper for his religion class- his prof ran it through google (or whatever software they use to check for plagiarism), and it led her to some anarchist cookbook forum. Needless to say, they had a chat.

A few things you could consider writing about rather than a trip you had for vacation are:
A job you had
Community service you have done
Hudge myspace parties you have hosted or been to

For the love of God please remove the line "Coming from a wealthy family"

"me and my older brother" should be "My older borther and I"

This generally has no point and th elast paragraph makes no sense in conjunction with the rest of it.
