NL2: 2 hands Line check, 2 pair
This is my first post here, but I've been lurking for a few weeks. I have trouble playing two pair most of the time and want to see how you guys play tougher situations. Appreciate the feedback.
Hand 1: Villain is pretty loose, 57/7 over 60 hands. He has called down large bets with just middle pair. Re: NL2: 2 hands Line check, 2 pair
Hand 1, standard up until turn. you need to raise this to at least 60ish, maybe a bit more. River when he donks i guess i just call because everything got in.
Hand 2, Bet more on the flop. 40ish is prob good. But the problem is with so many opponents the probability of a T is likely. After a good flop bet im prob c/f to further aggression. Dont bet so small on the turn, and river c/f. |

Re: NL2: 2 hands Line check, 2 pair
Thanks for the input. I've done fairly well playing FR 2NL, turning $3.00 into $100.22 (current count) in about 1.5 months. Most of my losses come from 2-pair hands. I have no problem betting strong when I have a set or higher, but I try to keep the pots smaller with 2 pair because it seems that I get drawn out on (or allow myself to get drawn out on) frequently.
Again, thank you. |

For this reason you are not only betting for value but for protection. Keeping the pot small does you no good if you allow your villains to draw cheap. In the first hand, for example, villain bets .10 in to a .50 pot on the turn. You raised to .30. Villain is now getting 4.5to1 + implied odds to call and draw to his flush or straight. These odds are exactly right if he has 8 or 9 outs. Villains are going to call with draws a lot so you want them calling with incorrect odds. You want them making mistakes, and mini-raises don't get the job done. |

Re: NL2: 2 hands Line check, 2 pair
Yeah, that's what I meant about allowing myself to be drawn out on. It just seems to me that I very rarely get draws to fold at NL2, so I tighten up to the point of being very weak, which is a major leak for me.
I played this hand recently, is the line better? Yeah better flop and turn. Being OOp on that river sucks though. NH. KQ?
