Default is that a deal?

last night I played a 4 persons HU shoutout which I qualified to through a freeroll. $5K for the winner.

When it was down to the last 2 we had the following convertation :

Player A : you want a deal?
Player B : What deal?
Player A : 50 50 winner go to next stage
Player B : ok.
Player B : I don't have $2.5K in my account

This is the only words we spoke though out the match.

so is the deal on?
Can I make him give half the winnings to me?
Is there anything I can do?

Seems like the "I don't have $2.5K in my account" would make the deal null and void, as player B could not fulfill the obligations of the deal if he won the seat. Also, you guys didn't agree to it, and I'm pretty sure most sites don't enforce any deals unless you either contact support and have them come facilitate or use the built in deal making tools.

I'm guessing you ended up playing it out normally and lost and now want to see if you can get some money back. If so, then there is definitely no deal.

Exactly what I was thinking. You clearly didn't make a deal either as no-one would be so stupid to assume they had when their conversation ended at such an unclear resolution.

I was going to say you really, really, really shouldn't have posted this here, but something tells me this is going to turn out hilarious.

Think of it this way, had you gone on to win the tournament and had he posted this here, would you feel obligated to pay him the money? I don't think you would.
