I have the #2 pick in this league. Assuming Lebron is gone, what's my play?

Running the numbers on this scoring system, Marion has the best overall contributions by a somewhat significant margin. He's only below average in 3% and assists, pretty natural for his position. If you think his numbers will fall significantly when his contract expires and he relocates, your next best options(factoring age) are Dirk, Wade, Kobe, Amare. If Dirk has center eligibility, he is a slam dunk pick. Even without it, he's probably your best bet. Contributes positively in every category except steals. If you are deadset on taking a "young" player, Bosh, Deng, or Paul are your best bets. Also, Lebron should not be the #1 pick, period.

btw, if you are considering taking someone with the last name Howard at the #2 pick, it should be Josh Howard and not Dwight. Dwight should not be a top 20 pick in that scoring format, his FT% is atrocious and his turnover rate is extremely bad as well. Put another way, his positive contributions in rebounding aren't enough to cancel out his negative FT% numbers. He's also going to negatively impact assists and steals.

I wish I had read this forum when the league was taking signups, I'd love to be in it

Marion's a god. The only real concern with him is if he leaves Phoenix next year.

Probabaly since he's never been and likely never will be a top 10 player in the league. But his youth, perceived durability and very limited downside make him pretty attractive at #1. That said, he hurts you bad in 3 categories which is more than virtually anyone else who is likely to go in the first round. As high volume as he is, it's tough to overcome his FT% and 3%, and turnovers from a forward suck too.

join our league?

also, am I the only one who finds Dirk to be the most attractive #1? I haven't checked his #s on this scoring system, but I'm just assuming it's near the top and he positively contributes in about every stat (I think even his TOs are OK).

Dirk is definitely a top 5 guy year-in, year-out.

If you have available spots, I am def in! I thought the league was full, though. Let me know conclusively?

Agree on Dirk. The only better player is Marion and his numbers may fall when he leaves Phoenix.

We should send Assani an email. If he answers, he stays in, if not...

I'm sure that won't be necessary. Also, Bowens is first up on the alternate list. I love the interest though and definitely we will get Morell in at some time.

There are two leagues with 32 total teams. I'm sure a spot or two will be available next year. We average 1-2 spots per league per offseason that open up.

Only thing I'm afraid of in this upcoming draft is my internet connection. I don't want everyone getting pissed off because the internet here loves cutting out occasionally. It's usually pretty good on the weekends but with my luck it'll decide to [censored] with me when I need it most.

I think there is a few people ahead of morello in the queue even if commish decides to boot Assani. My remark was more of a taunt, as I think you severely undervalue Dwight. And I'm not convinced Marion/Dirk are tops (KG, for example). The point is, you can build a successful team multiple ways, so it's not enough to just say A>B.
