Re: Set Aces faced with river all-in (10NL)
You donkey. I told you NOT to call. You shouldn't have bet the flop or turn either.
If your opponent has a hand, he'll bet at you and then you can raise it because AA is the best hand in the game. If they aren't betting, it means they'll fold if YOU bet and you won't win a lot of money. The right line to take with AA is check any street/raise all-in if someone bets. But if there's a straight or flush possible then just fold. |

Preflop: Hero is on the Button with A A 1 fold, UTG+1 calls 0.10, 1 fold, Hero raises to 0.50, 1 fold, BB calls 0.40, UTG+1 calls 0.40. Flop (1.55) 2 A 7 BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets 1, BB calls 1, 1 fold. Turn (3.55) T BB checks, Hero bets 2.50, BB calls 2.50. River (8.55) 4 BB moves all-in for 7.16, Hero ???? [/ QUOTE ] Ban |

Also, I had the nuts preflop, on the flop and on the turn so it would be stupid to not bet I think. 90 % of the time I win a nice pot if that 4 doesn't come so it was the right thing to do imo. |

Re: Set Aces faced with river all-in (10NL)
you guys are totally missing the point on this hand.
villain is using expertly mastered 8th level psychology. level 1: he has a gutshot. level 2: he thinks kakature has at least top pair or better. level 3: he thinks kakature thinks that he has an A, pocket pair, or better. level 4: since he thinks kakature puts him on those hands, kakature probably knows he's ahead and will call a shove when he hits his gutshot. level 5: given that, he considers that kakature thinks he has a random draw and does not semi-bluff with his strong draw. level 6: since kakature has considered that villain has a random draw, he underbets the turn in an attempt to induce a call with the best hand. level 7: ??? level 8: profit. |
