I think you are mistaking PROTRIPPER and PROTR0AST. The Q9 folded preflop. JJ was what the DZ00NUTS's AQ was against... folding there is reasonable.

It is unclear to me how anyone could "make up" a file with a list of everyone's hole cards.

That idea is just absurd.

I too was somewhat suspicious but upon reading through a couple of threads it appears every thing is on the up-and-up.

the e-mail was accidentally sent BEFORE the giant scandal blew up.
But the person who received the e-mail wasn't aware that he was sitting on a gold-mine.
He asked for his own HH's. AP sent him this giant excel file with a-bazillion HH's on it in a really weird format so he said, "screw this. This file is ridiculous...AP sucks...can't they just send a regular file."
Then he looked at it more closely later on and realized what he had.

There are some 2+2'ers who seem to be reputable who are going through these who claim they are legit which starts to be good enough for me.
Furthermore, there are a couple of people I think who were in that tourney who might be able to compare the HH's they had with the ones being publicized today. One assumes that they will not find any contradictions from their own HH's.

Perhaps if we asked AP really nicely they would send us a gigantic file of all the hole-cards and HH's of all the cash-game hands these guys played as well.

hey guys - I'm not sure if Mason and Mat and other important 2+2 powers-that-be are aware of the AP situation.
Would it be worth posting a request in the ATF about whether we believe 2+2 should refuse any AP advertising dollars?
Maintaining their own integrity and etc etc etc.

This is something I guess they could talk about in the mod-forum as well but ultimately they aren't the ones who get to make such a decision obviously.

I think it would be a good idea for 2p2 to at least consider not dealing with Absolute.

holy crap i just remembered that i had them send me a hand history once from a tournament
i was down to almost no money and finished near the top so i wanted it
it was from last september 06
it was a huge excel file and i never really bothered to look through it
so i just looked at it now and there are hole cards for other players on it that i shouldnt see

so now i 100% believe they sent him hand histories as i have an excel file they sent me that has them

Well, that in itself is a big deal - but they apparently also reveal the IP addresses and email addresses of people observing the tournaments as well.

Yup, that's just wreckless to give out e-mails and ip. It seems harmless non computer geeks. The hole cards doesn't really bother me.
