Re: JJ - I don\'t know how to play vs LAGs
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Vilain is 30/13/3. [/ QUOTE ] might be a set ... [ QUOTE ] MP calls $2, 2 folds, Hero raises to $8, 1 fold, MP calls $6. [/ QUOTE ] since he limp calls .. this is often 22/44/99 ... or a 'tricky' played overpair ... I think his stats show that he plays a lot of hands "to hit" ... This could be 42, 94, 29, aswell or some trash like that I dont think this player would raise you with air on a flop he doesnt hit ... Theres no general plan vs a LAG here (there are no general plans in specific situations in poker). I would call and reevaluate the turn. If he fires a PSB again i'm out. Shoving the flop raise is overplayed and the only hands you beat are TT/88/77/66-55/33. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks, based on this estimate: Board: 2d 4s 9d Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 47.016% 47.02% 00.00% 16291 0.00 { JcJd } Hand 1: 52.984% 52.98% 00.00% 18359 0.00 { QQ, TT-88, 44, 22, 94s, 53s, 42s } [/ QUOTE ] wtf, a range that discounts flush draws. flush draws are a big part of his range |

Re: JJ - I don\'t know how to play vs LAGs
Right, this may be more reasonable:
Hand 0: 48.427% 48.43% 00.00% 21095 0.00 { JcJd } Hand 1: 51.573% 51.57% 00.00% 22465 0.00 { QQ, TT-88, 44, 22, Ad8d, Ad7d, Ad6d, Ad5d, Ad4d, Ad3d, Ad2d, KdJd, KdTd, Kd8d, QdJd, QdTd, 94s, 53s, 42s } |

Re: JJ - I don\'t know how to play vs LAGs
Against a true big bet LAG...if you call now you are you are chip committed (barring an A or dimmond on turn. 98$ in a pot with a starting stack $197. My hole game is based on observing the type of hands my oponents make so that as soon as he calls my raise I have a plan here.
from an unknown (no other info then the stats I fold here). I I'm going to raise and fold then I bettor be sure Ive seen him call rises or re raises only with sets not draws. A true loose aggressive (big bet type) could have A9s...Kd Jd Td 8d small pair this bored. Hell if read you as week tight and you have a highish raising I would make a call and $40 raise every now in then, its how I make money in tight games. |

Re: JJ - I don\'t know how to play vs LAGs
Before reading replies:
Kinda depends how good the lag is. This one looks competent even though he has way to larger gap between his vpip/pfr.... We're probably not that great vs his range and if you havent seen him get too outa line you could just fold... but sometimes we need to make a stand imo... The fact his vpip is so high and he's limped called pre means imo his range is very wide. Hes probably more likely to raise any pair pre, and limp the SC's? Considering he's so agressive I dont like a 3b on this flop much, instead if you're to continue Id call and let him bluff off if no diamond falls on riv. What do other ppl think of him being more likely to open raise poket pairs and open limp SC's and Ax suited? |

Re: JJ - I don\'t know how to play vs LAGs
What the best line if a) when we get it in we are mostly behind b) after his flop raise we are still ahead though I don't really know. But 3 betting flop seems bad. What I know though is to raise more preflop. |
