Wow, that was weird. When I first opened the link she was going counter clock-wise. Then I diverted my eyes to read the text beneath and when I looked back up she was going clock-wise! Then I couldn't get her to go counter clock-wise after that. Still can't.

same here

this video will help anyone understand who is still baffled. it's all about how you perceive the image.

Pretty freaky link. The backend of the mask looks like it's a normal face but the original swirling girl is still going clockwise and refuses to change.

I feel like that dude in mall rats who can't see the sailboat.

Woohoo I can make her spin either way!!

If you cover her up and look at her shadow and imagine it spinning either clockwise/counter clockwise, then when you uncover her again she'll be spinning which ever way you want

I think this is some kind of hoax.

I found this picture from 2 different locations. I opened the picture 5 times for each address and started following.

If the woman changed direction it changed it on all the pics from the same url and I have 2 pics from different url's going different ways next to each other.

Tested several times

Wow that's trippy. It took me 10 minutes to see her counter clockwise. Half way through my brother came in and could only see her counter clockwise. I can now switch her to counter. The key IMO is to focus on her planted foot, block out the rest of the picture (with your hand or something), and picture her other leg spinning the way you want to see it before looking at the whole pic.

I wonder how a computer would read this. Would she just be going side to side without ever doing a full spin?

I remember reading something the other day about a computer that was trained to see optical illusions the way a human would; by training it to "see" the same way humans do, it would make the same "mistake". Kind of neat.

Tried it again and I still get them spinning in same direction for the same url while they go to different direction in the second url and changing direction randomly.

Try for yourself. Open up both url's three times and see...
