BB Defends UTG raise, then leads flop.
$25+ 2.50 on Stars.
I doubled up early overplaying TT a bit, but otherwise have been very card dead and tight. Won blinds 1 hand, otherwise basically folded. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (9 handed) internettexasholdem.com BB (t3930) Hero (t6350) Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero raises to t450, 7 folds, BB calls t300. Flop: (t975) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets t750, Hero sighs. BB was like 27/5/0.6 over 45 hands or something. I really hate these. Anyone have good general advice? On Ace flops, I see a far amount of weak leads that fold to raises, which I assume are marginal aces trying to find out if you raised with a good Ace or not. This bet is 3/4ths pot though, and the board is a lot safer. |

Re: BB Defends UTG raise, then leads flop.
yeah...this spot sucks, but sometimes u should just be glad that BB donked his way out of winning a c-bet. If the lead is something like 1/2 the pot or a little less, then it's usually a med PP testing the waters. this lead kinda says KQ;KJ scared of 2 club board.

Re: BB Defends UTG raise, then leads flop.
I don't know if it's always right in these spots, but when I see a 3/4 pot bet I usually give him credit for the K as he is protecting his hand from the flush draw. I lean towards puking and folding because flat calling sort of sucks too. Which leaves us reraising and i'm not sure we are ahead enough of the time. Villian has put in 30% of his stack he shouldn't be going away very often.
