Casino Allegany (Salamanca) Question
Next week, I have to go to Olean, NY for a little field work. I'm not sure exactly what day we will be done (it could be Wednesday or maybe Thursday) but I do know we won't drive home the day we are done.
Since Olean is like 25 minutes from Salamanca, I was thinking about making the trip and playing some poker throughout the night. My plan (hopefully) is to finish field work in the afternoon, go back to our hotel, take a nap, checkout and then go to Salamanca. I figure ETA would be around 10ish. Can I expect to find games going on late into the night on a weekday? |

Re: Casino Allegany (Salamanca) Question
Probably at least a 2-4 limit, a couple 1-2 NL games, and if you're lucky, a 2-5 NL. There usually are games around the clock, but the place empties out significantly around 11 on weekends and probably 9:30-10 on weeknights. Given your options, you'd rather show up there on Thursday night if you wanted any reasonable variety of ring games.
edit: wait, if you aren't driving back that night, you might want to keep that Olean hotel room unless you plan on playing through the night and driving back sleepy. Unless you're taking your chances in Jamestown on the way back or something, that is. |

Re: Casino Allegany (Salamanca) Question
If there was a game and I could play through the night, I didn't want to drive back to Olean just to checkout. I figure at the worst, I'll take a powernap in my company truck somewhere before driving home. I don't think I can talk my company into paying for a hotel in Salamanca for me
1-2 NL is more along the speed I'm looking for so from what you say, I could pull something off. |
