yes, I have a real job, and it pays way more than I make at poker. Poker is a hobby that my wife and two dogs generally tolerate.
the fact I bought her (the wife, not either of the dogs) diamond earrings with a good chunk of my bankroll last year helps with the tolerance factor.

Wife, 2 kids and own business designing industrial electronics.
Pretty stressful so I obv picked a nice relaxing hobby like poker - DOH! Wifey does not beleive that 30K hands per month is very important. So I have promised her that all the money won online this year will be spent on a holiday for us. Hmmmmm.... given that I just about beat NL25 I dont think my travel agent shoud get too excited.

[/ QUOTE ] Wasnt a shot at you guys...was a shot at the guys, you know they are out there or we couldnt make any money doing this, that have no job, ony play poker, call it their job because they pull out a couple hundred bucks a month. If I was a college student, I would be aspiring to be a poker pro....but since I graduated in 2002, have a job with great poker hours (teacher, summers off, vacations, no weekends) poker is my supplement. Plus, getting paid all summer while not working, is WAY better than getting paid to play poker!

Has a job (CPA), wife (14 1/2 years), two kids (11 & 9). Could take or leave my job but really like the guy who owns our practice. Poke is an obsessive/compulsive hobby.
