[ QUOTE ]
Bunny, 'non-physical entity' is a contradictio in terminis. 'non-physical interaction' is also a contradictio in terminis. Both of these sentences lack logical meaning, are thus not knowledge, and so do not answer Q3. [/ QUOTE ] As I said - I dont understand how you use words, so I doubted we'd have much of a fruitful discussion. |

Re: Stuck Between Agnosticism and Christianity
The discussion might have moved a bit now but Bunny - I don't think your belief in Christianity without the hell is as uncommon as you think. For a long time I thought this. I've since moved solidly into the agnostic camp, but while I still have some residual interest in Chrisitity, I can't imagine what kind of a monster one has to be to believe that billions of people will be tortured for eternity for really no good reason.
I think the more modern position, one espoused by Pope John Paul II, is that hell is the state of mind of being seperated from God. This seems to me to be kind of lame and not really deserving of a word like hell, but my point is that I think many Christians north of the Mason-Dixon line are moving away from the indefensible idea of a physical hell. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think the best defence for hell-advocates would be that it's existence is required by considerations of justice. It doesnt make sense to me - but if a benevolent god has to be just and if the crime of not worshipping god is that awful, then I guess an argument could be made. In my experience though, most people who believe in hell for a large proportion of the population usually prefer to avoid the question of how it coincides with the concept of a benevolent god. |

Of course not. [/ QUOTE ] Well, that might have been fun. Not that familiar w/ InTheDark. Might be just as much of an insult. |

What words don't you understand? [/ QUOTE ] Can't speak for bunny, but I've noticed that when it comes to usage, you often strain at a logical gnats, and swallow colloquial camels. You might think it makes you look smart, but it actually makes you look like you are trying to look smart, which in turn makes you look dumb. |

Wow, that's really passive aggressive. [/ QUOTE ] You really do use words funny. I thought "you look dumb" was rather direct. [ QUOTE ] You're now on ignore. [/ QUOTE ] Better to seek shelter than get rained on. |
