Probebly obvious to many of you - rake
I was messing with some of my spread sheets and looking at the difference between 9 seat tables and 10 seat tables.
Playing around I discovered that if I had the same results (1st, 2nd, 3rd) but on 10 man tables my ROI would get a 13% bump. WOW!!!! That really surprised me. Is this do to the combination prize money/rake? In a $11 SNG does that extra $10 in prize money mean THAT much?? What places have 10 man SNG ??? I'm only playing Full Tilt, Absolute and BoDog at the moment and I think BoDog is 10 man. What is Stars???? This is something else the FAQ should mention when it talks about ROI and results!! |

Re: Probebly obvious to many of you - rake
How can you expect to have the same results when there is 1 extra player in the game?

You'll get ITM less in a 10 man. Your ROI should stay the same.

Re: Probebly obvious to many of you - rake
Yea - I understand less ITM but not 10% less. I wuld have to think maybe 3% less ITM on a 10 man table. With ITM being slightly less (how much????) you would expect ROI to also fall but not enough to offset the money gained with the extra $$ in prizes.

Just think if you got the same results in the 180 man SnGs!

[/ QUOTE ] Well, it's a 10% bump in the prize pool, 13% just means you have a decent distribution of places. And if ROI's where all the same you would have 10% less ITM. A smaller difference just illustrates the skill difference. Stars all 9-man exept the $3.4. Those are fishy enough your ITM % shouldn't drop at all. |

That is why one more player should not decrease your ITM THAT much.
The extra player (I have yet to see non fishy SNGs at least up to $22)will probably either be a fish. I was trying to normalize all of my games and was just surprised at the difference between 9 and 10 man. |

Re: Probebly obvious to many of you - rake
Thats what I was thinking - the extra player would not have a $10 equity in the beginning, more like $6 with the other $4 spread out over the other 9 players.
But I wonder if the bottom line changes with the greater playing time involved. BoDog SNGs take forever and that is why I was staying away but if there is that much of an increase in ROI . . . . . |
