Re: Movie Review: The Proposition
I think it was well directed, and very well shot.
The acting was also in top, but the movie itself didnt really catch me, and its not a movie im gonna watch repeatedly. |

Re: Movie Review: The Proposition
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I think the character development and acting is probably a little better in Unforgiven. [/ QUOTE ] Overall, maybe. But I'd put Ray Winstone's performance up against any in Unforgiven. I enjoyed Danny Huston's performance as well. It's just a shame Richard Harris died before he could play John Hurt's role. [/ QUOTE ] You're right about Ray Winstone--really impressive. As for the overall cast and characters, though--Unforgiven went further to give us a wider perspective on virtually ALL of the characters, and we have a little more invested in them. Don't get me wrong--I don't need to know all about every character's childhood and hopes and dreams, but in The Proposition, it is all only implied, whereas in Unforgiven, we have much more backstory and context. And yes--Danny Huston made Burns an even MORE mysterious character than he was written; I thought he was great. |
