Are there any links to the actual newsletters?

[/ QUOTE ]

Paul acknowledged the quotes appeared in his newsletter.

He also had defended the quotes as being "in context to current events".

Naturally, he insists they have no racist intent....but I think his own words speak for themselves, despite his damage control.

Well done, RedBean. I think I may just have to vote for Hillary now.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Vote for whoever you want, guy.

Based on your defending the quotes earlier, it doesn't seem like you have an issue with Paul being a racist.

After reading his issues, I was seriously thinking of voting for this man, and upon finding his racist diatribes from his newsletters.....I'm just glad I found them in time, before sending any money or giving my vote to a racist.

I'm just glad he has no shot at winning. It seems he was born a century too late, he may have had a chance in the Jim Crow south.

No, no, no. You, and you alone have convinced me that he's a liar and a racist.

I don't believe the man himself, regardless of his speeches on the House floor, his voting record, and definitely not what wrote over at that Lew Rockwell site...hell, I betcha Lew's a racist...probably queer, too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you; I almost threw my vote away.

People who are racist display a pattern of racism. One quote that is obviously in dispute regardless of what you say someone else said he said before he said he said something different (hearsay FTW!) is not enough to condemn a man as a racist. If he truly is racist, this should show itself in a pattern of racial remarks, policy positions, votes, etc. Sorry, man, but one disputed quote from fifteen years ago is weaksauce.

Did you read the article on Lew Rockwell?

[/ QUOTE ]

I read Paul's racist quotes. After that, I'm not much more interested in reading anymore of his drivel.

Hearsay? He defended the words as HIS OWN originally. Straight from the horses mouth!

Oh, so it's okay to be racist once or twice....just as long as he doesn't do it a lot?

Interesting concept.

Dead serious. After reading his stance on issues, they were by far most in line with mine moreso than any other candidate....aside from being puzzled about the home-schooling thing, and the birthright citizen thing.

But then, I found out the guy is racist, and I just can't be having none of that, especially when he refuses to this day to condemn the remarks...only "claim" that he didn't make them, despite originally saying he did.

You might be comfortable with him, since your standards are apparently different and being racist "once or twice is ok"....but it's just not how I roll.

In 2004, Congress voted on a bill to "Recognize and honor the 40th anniversary of congressional passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and celebrate it's role in eliminating discrimination against African Americans"

It passed the House 414-1

The lone objection was Ron Paul.

First the racially charged quotes, and now this?
