I have heard of casino workers in Las Vegas (where I used to live) being expressly told that they were not to be gambling on the internet in their private time or they would be fired.

[/ QUOTE ]
i dealt/worked the floor there for nearly the last 10yrs and NEVER heard of that.

the OP & friend here are complete morons also.

Some sort fo directive about not being allowed to gamble or play poker on the internet was distributed to Harrah's employees about a year ago I believe.
A floor guy and a dealer at Horseshoe-Tunica were talking about it when it had first come out.
Very much doubt anyone was going to take it seriously.

As is obviousy to practically anyone, they very quickly picked up on the idea of, "how the hell are they ever going to know?"
Although I guess it does kind of exclude a Harrah's employee from trying to qualify for the WSOP or something via Stars if he doesn't want to get in hot-water with his job.

No idea how serious they are about trying to enforce the rule or even if they still have it. I think it came out shortly after the UIGEA perhaps so probably sometime last Sept or Oct.

I think they are excluded from the WSOP period.

okay, I wasn't sure of that.
Well, if they tried to qualify for a non-WSOP event and won money at an event where they are seen wearing Stars gear AND if Harrah's actually catches on and asks them about it then I guess it could be problematic.

Of course, they can always say that they just bought their own way to the event and that when they got there Stars asked if they would like to wear their gear and he didn't think it would be a problem.

Short version - it's still kind of tough for harrah's to enforce this policy even in some of the most extreme of situations where an online-qualifier employed by Harrah's makes it to the final-table or something.

Several dealers in Blackhawk have told me that they play online all the time and the prohibition is not enforced.
