AT44 is a pretty awful hand preflop [/ QUOTE ] well, op does have position and even though i'm not exactly thrilled with the hand either, its not the worst hand in that spot. the hand itself plays pretty easy. connect hard with flop or dump or mabe even take the pot if they check. position makes this hand not so bad. |

Not really. You only like nut flush and quad 4 flops. All other flops are different levels of migraines unless you are playing short handed.

My point is that even in a limped pot, hitting a set with 4s is fraught with set over set danger. This instance it did not occur, but 4s will often be bottom set so it will occur frequently enough to be a consideration in play. If hero flops sees a Kh8h9s flop with his ahth44 hand should he call a pot size bet if first person bets and second person folds?
