VY is a liability that creates close games. He makes way too many bad decisions.

"Because that was not a game they should have lost".....seems like a lot of teams end up saying that right after they play the Titans, no?

The Titans have the #2 defense in the entire league. I don't think you fluke your way into 9/11 wins in the NFL. Included in those 9 wins are: 2 wins over Jax, a win over Indy, and a 31-13 crushing of the Eagles ON THE ROAD. Hell it'd almost be 10 of their last 12 if they hadn't lost by just one point to the 13-3 Ravens.

This team reminds me of the Vick led Falcons teams that were legit contenders(NFC Championship one year, 2nd round of playoff one year, Vick got hurt in between and killed their chances). I find it funny too that everyone says that same thing about how Vick(Young) sucks and the D carries them...but in both instances when you look at the team's record without the QB they are simply horrible.

Are the Jaguars the same team they were when Tenn beat them last season, let alone in week one? The Jaguars lost, I understand that, but with a kicker the game is at least tied in the 4th maybe JAX up. I'm completely bias and dislike the Titans greatly so I'm sure I'm blinded in this situation. I just don't see VY as being an above average QB in this league and I've said that since he was drafted.

Ummm, pretty sure if some other craptastic QB was on the Titans yesterday the Titans would have still won--how can you argue that? The Titans win games b/c they are pretty good football team at times not b/c of Vince Young, sure he does some good things that helps them to victory but just b/c he does this 2-3 times a year doesn't mean a whole lot. VY is overrated. Their defense is sick nasty and so they win. Their O-line doesn't get enough credit either, they constantly have gaps to run in--the reason their running game has been one of the top ones in the league.

VY is a liability that creates close games. He makes way too many bad decisions.

Do you not remember this EXACT same argument happening over Mike Vick?

IIRC Vick led the Falcons to the 2nd round of the playoffs(first team to ever win in GB in the playoffs), then the next year he got hurt and they were something like 2-10 without him. Then he came back for the last 4 games and they went 3-1 despite playing a pretty tough schedule in the last 4 games. The next year they went to the NFC Championship game. All thats off the top of my head, so it might not be exact.

Kerry Collins, while not a great player, certainly is a marginal talent at worst. He was a high draft pick so we know he has the natural talent, hes a veteran so we know hes not going to get rattled, and hes been there before(SB in 2000). Yet the Titans were one of the worst teams in the league last year with him. Its not just that they went 0-4, but check out the scores: 16-23, 7-40, 10-13, and 14-45! That is a horrible horrible football team. Then Vince Young comes in and they just miss out on the playoffs by losing their last game of the regular season.

Like Vick, Vince Young does so much for their running game because of the respect that teams must give to VY's rushing ability. It opens up things for everyone else on offense. Do you also think its a coincidence that both Atl with Vick and Tenn now were two of the top rushing teams in the league? Are Chris Brown, Lendale White, Warrick Dunn, and J Norwood really that good?

Vince Young haters are retarded. He has a HORRIBLE offense to work with, and still wins games.

No matter how much these teams have improved from their notorious pasts, I still can't get used to reading sentences like this....

Also just to add, like Vick, Young has complete crap at WR. You have to realize how much that influences a QB. If I were to ask you the top QBs in the league right now a very reasonable answer would be that Brady, Manning, Palmer, and Romo make up tier #1. Do you think its just a complete coincidene that all of them happen to have a stud WR?

Similarly if I were to ask you who the worst starting QBs i the league were you might say Smith/Dilfer, Grossman/Griese, Brees(how the mighty have fallen), Lemon/Beck, and so on....and look at their WR corps!

I think we overrate QBs a lot and don't look at their surrounding talent enough. As you know thats one of the big reasons why I've always been a Brady>Manning guy- because hes done it without a stud WR. Anyway, don't want to get into that again, but just wanted to make the point that WR corps matters a ton for a QB's success.

Assani,

Have you considered that the front offices of Atlanta and Tennessee haven't gotten talented WRs because they know the QBs can't get them the ball?

The Eagles are too low. I'm a 49ers fan and can agree that having them above anyone but the bottom feeders is a joke. Sure, the defense is decent this year, but they have Trent Dilfer, some bad receivers, a hurt TE, and so far a bad Oline. The offense is a complete joke

well there are WRs like TJ on the Bengals that go from nobody's to strong WR when an elite QB is added to the mix

doesn't happen the other way around really

Peyton Manning would be a dominant player on any roster
