Gamb, none of that has anything to do with it being ridiculous to belittle someone based on their superior intelligence; you actually defend doing so. There is no defense for people who do this; it is an ignorant defense mechanism; it is idiotic, and defending it equally so.

I also disagree with your breakdown of speaker groups, as I find most everyone naturally speaks non-elegantly, using words they know; not doing so would be way too much work and would easily backfire (Especially around someone like me this is true. Not because I point out errors because I know more; I fairly often don't know a word, or can't place a reference, or haven't read a book, etc; but because I tell you I don't know, ask questions, and want answers; an unfortunately underused approach, it seems).
