Default Nutrisystem meals, Worth it or not?

Hi all,

I'm starting a work out routine and realized that my diet right now is absolutely horrible. I have no problem going and working out and running but I don't want to hurt my results b/c I don't eat well. I don't really like to cook and because of this I usually get lazy and end up just going to get a hamburger or eating a sandwich, which is why I think that if I had some type of meal plan liek this i could stick too, maybe it would work. I was thinking of trying the Nutrisystem meals that Dan Marino advertises. Money isn't an object, so if you guys know of a better one please share.

My question to you all is, are these things worth it? If they do how long does it typically take to see a result (assuming a good workout plan, and assuming no work besides just changing the diet?) Have any of you tried this? Does the food suck?

Thanks in advance,

-lO

If money isn't a concern there are probably healthy meal delivery services in your area that consist of actual food.

I have no clue what Nutrisystem is, so it's possible that it's a good idea. I just cant see it being better that lean cuisine or something.

Dude, if you're too lazy to cook (it's not hard) then you are too lazy to get in the shape you want to be in.

If money is no object get a cook, don't buy some prepackaged crap.

Just my .02, good luck.

Not trying to look amazing, just trying to eat better than I do now w/o interfering with my life a whole lot more.

The meals are gross from what I hear. Hire a local Zone diet food delivery service.

Nutrisystem isn't even frozen, it's room temperature and loaded with preservatives.

Way to sneak your comment inside my quote???

Anyway, to give you an idea of what it's like to eat healthy--

1. When you go to the store, buy mostly veggies, fruit, lean meats (chicken, turkey, grass fed beef, fish), pre-made salads in a bag, and fibrous stuff (oatmeal, raisin bran, etc). Don't buy potato chips, soda, or processed stuff that comes in a box.

So there, step 1 is accomplished and it took NO MORE time than buying [censored] food would have.

2. Step 2 is the cooking. Find 2-3 recipes you like. A couple times a week, set aside 30 min to cook up a batch. That's 60 minutes of your life total and now you have 5-7 servings to eat/freeze. So there, your dinners for the week are all taken care of and all you had to sacrifice was skipping one episode of the many crappy tv shows you probably watch (everyone has at least one). Lunch doesnt take any time because its a premade salad, and breakfast doesnt take any time because its oatmeal for chrissake. If you need more food during the day, boil up a bunch of eggs and stick em in the fridge, have a ready supply of almonds/walnuts, and fruit to supplement meals.

Again, if money is no object and you insist on not cooking it makes ZERO sense to buy premade meals when you could hire a cook.
