I like it a lot - villain doeesnt figure to have a big hand so kinda pricing him in seems like the best way to stack him.
I usually hate this kinda play but against shortstack villains I think this is almost definitely the best line to get the money in, assuming were getting it in on any river |

Also I cant think of a single good reason why betting flop is better than checking.
