Re: Great anonymous interview about being a broke player
I'm 99% sure this is made up as it is way too cliche. as someone who has played a fair amount on the circuit i can testify to a lot of this being true but in much low numbers than the interveiw adresses. It also forgets to mention these 'broke' live pros are soaking in endorsement money.

Re: Great anonymous interview about being a broke player
FWIW, I am a journalist and that article sounds incredibly fake. All the responses sound massaged and juiced up.
Also, whoever made that Action Dan post, I am still laughing. |

Re: Great anonymous interview about being a broke player
Humberto Brenes
I was gonna say Mark Seif, but that's unreasonable since he always has god-mode as a backup if all else fails. Definitely Humberto Brenes, rumor has it he even pawned off his shark at the SuperPawn on LV Blvd |

Re: Great anonymous interview about being a broke player
This question would not be asked in no-fake interview made during 5k event:
Us: Wow. Well how is your wife? It is all made up. |

Re: Great anonymous interview about being a broke player
Guys who were prominent (on TV) for a little while because of tournament FTs and fit the age bracket, that haven't already been mentioned:
- Hasan Habib (had a wife and kids, I think) - Paul Wolfe (had a wife and kids) - James Van Alstyne (went to college, won a televised but non-WSOP/WPT tourney) - Robert Williamson III (had a wife and kids, also gambles degenerately) I'm also pretty sure the later three travel the tourney circuit regularly, not sure about Habib. (And, yeah, the article probably is BS. Hard to imagine anyone being so honest and straightforward about being a losing player) |
