I think you played it fine. You're not folding a better hand and he probably won't call with a worse one.

Youre behind a random hand on the river, so I highly highly doubt you have the best hand when you get called often for a bet to be correct.

Easy check on the river, the only reasonable worse hand that could possibly c/c on his range is 86
