Re: Pot control in position
The reason the raise amount is important is because you both have similar stacks... and the whole comparison with Gordon vs. Stox vs. whoever may depend upon the opponent, reads, stack sizes and many other considerations that go into this.
In general if you have similar 100BB stacks you don't want to be stacked with just TPTK. But those guys that buy-in with 15BB I'll happily get them all-in with TPTK. Basically I treat the TPTK hand the same as I do when I whiff the flop... I c-bet about the same amount and check the turn. If I have position I'm hoping they bluff the river, but I'm not calling huge bets. |

Re: Pot control in position
PS. I keep forgetting to say, I play Full Ring and my comments are for that. What I say here isn't too out of line for 6-max though, though you have to be more willing to go to war with the better TPTK hands (like AQ on a Qxx board) than the weak ones (say A8 on a 8xx board).

Re: Pot control in position
Apologies it's taken me a few days to reply to this, I've been away. Thanks for the additional comments, particulalry Debitter. This thread has been very instructional for me.
