Re: Join me in my drug-inspired, inordinately belated poker epiphanies
good players do a very good job of
1. analyzing what you have 2. taking the best course of action given what you probably have note that arriving at the answer to #2 can be really tricky |

i think you underestimate how formidable your "autopilot" mode is. if you are 12tablin and winning at stars 3-6 then its pretty freakin good. i would imagine you are doing plenty of "re-rationalizing"

also i def disagree with this given personal experience.
" it generally does not happen that somebody shoots up the ranks from 5c/10c to 2/4 extremely fast and then can’t move up any higher." |

Re: Join me in my drug-inspired, inordinately belated poker epiphanies
Ive thought about similar ideas when im baked out of my mind and then realized when i am not high anymore that it really wasnt that interesting. Kinda like watching a movie u think is so funny when u are high and then watching it again not high and it really isnt that funny at all. For example the movie "How High" so funny when high, pretty stupid when not.
I guess after rereading it it sums alot alot of my thoughts which ill give some props for. Ive always thought forums like this were victim to "groupthink". It seems like players who want to get good just agree with top posters without even thinking about it which indirectly leads to misunderstandings but can lead to success. Alot of players around 2-4 just play a style in which u may think they know what they are doing but all they have is just a collection of thoughts of other people bundled into a style in which they make some cash at. Sounds like me actually. |
