Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
[ QUOTE ]
I don't understand why you don't lead the flop? You said he's a LAG and has been 3betting you quite a bit, so IMO you are beating a lot of his range. I don't think the UTG limp changes much. I think a strong bet on the flop is in order here in hopes to take it down. If he calls, then proceed with caution. [/ QUOTE ] Because you have to fold to a raise and they will often raise you with air. If you had AA instead of JJ here you would not be donking the flop and he knows that. The same goes for a set ... However, if you decide to play your hand and check raise him, you will get AK to fold (or push and you call which is alright) and might even get QQ to fold thinking that the only hand he has beat is JJ. |

Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
Preflop is standard vs most villains. I wouldn't be 4-betting this hand unless I'm comfortable getting it in pre, and against most villains 150 BBs deep I would not be.
I think ck/c flop, ck/f turn is the best line against most villains. If this guy is over aggro in 3 bet pots I'd call the second barrel, but river is a definite fold IMO. Someone mentioned donking the flop with the intention of getting it in. This is an interesting line, but I think we'll be getting it in as a dog to his range in most cases, even if he's repoping the donk bet with a wide range. For example: Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 49,500 games 0.015 secs 3,300,000 games/sec Board: Th 6d 5h Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 43.294% 42.34% 00.95% 20958 472.50 { JdJs } Hand 1: 56.706% 55.75% 00.95% 27597 472.50 { TT+, AQs+, 98s, 87s, AKo } This is a pretty wide range IMO. We could add a few more unpaired high cards, smaller pairs etc., to make it look a little better and it would be +EV considering the dead money in the pot. I'm not sure it's reasonable to assume he's always raising this many hands though, you'd need more of a read than just "he's a LAG". So I guess I like your line better than donking the flop in most cases. |

Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
Yeah I agree US given time to mull the hand over and the input from other posters (not going to comment on donk really - since I never do it I have no idea if people bluff-raise etc). I like a turn fold, but I don't think call turn fold river (even on a blank) is particularly bad (though not as good as fold turn). He can still be betting turn with worse and I think he gives up almost always on the river.

I dunno, that river card should make him bluff more than a blank imo.

Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
I probably c/f this turn.
I think donk leading the turn is a viable option too. |

Re: JJ OOP vs a LAG
I might fold preflop
A 27/13 isn't LAG if anything according to his more likely tendency to cold call preflop he's probably 3 betting less than typical 22/18 TAGs. He's probably 3 betting only about 5% of his hands due to your UTG+1 iso and his MP reraise with a fishy likely to come along if he just calls. |

[/ QUOTE ] You will trap more money from villain's CBs with hands you have beat when you CRAI rather than when you donk/RAI. Plus with a CRAI you might even get QQ to fold ... |
